Village Farms International

Founded in 1989, Village Farms International is a Canada-based, vertically integrated greenhouse grower. In 2020, the company acquired the Canadian cannabis supplier Pure Sunfarms, which makes a variety of products from flower to concentrates to edibles.

In the US, the company is pursuing a strategy of developing and supplying CBD products to big box and major retailers, and positioning itself for the possible federal legalization of cannabis.

The publicly-traded company operates greenhouses in British Columbia, Texas, Ontario, and Mexico, and made its name for growing vegetables such as hot house tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers, long before the acquisition of Pure Sunfarms.
