Based in Salvador, Brazil, the Association for Research and Development of Medical Cannabis in Brazil, or CANNAB for short, is a nonprofit that advocates for patients who need cannabinoid-based treatment. Since 2017, medically trained volunteers including Dr Julia Braga, Dr Mariane Greice Pereira Ventura and Dr Nicole Almeida have worked to improve patients’ quality of life with cannabinoid products.
So far, the organization’s achievements include the foundation of a headquarters in Bituba, a partnership with the Brazilian Neurology Foundation, education for medical professionals, the provision of free medical care and treatment and more. In its own words, “The CANNAB Association seeks authorization in court to carry out the planting and production for medicinal and scientific purposes.”
