Tilray

Tilray is a Canadian marijuana producer that is a major global player in cultivation, research, processing, and distribution.

The company exports cannabis to 15 countries across the world. In January, 2020, the company exported 2.5 tons of cannabis from its Portugal facility to Israel, the first time that the country allowed the commercial import of cannabis.

According to a May, 2019 press release, Tilray has a total production and manufacturing footprint of 1.1 million to 1.3 million square feet worldwide. That same month, the company reported revenue of $23 million in the first quarter, and also closed two acquisitions — hemp and natural foods producer Manitoba Harvest and the cannabis cultivation facility Natura Naturals.

The company makes a wide range of cannabis products including oil, capsules, and flowers.

In early February, 2020, the company announced that it was laying off 10% of its workforce in order to increase profitability.
