National Cannabis Industry Association

The National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) counts among its members around 2,000 US businesses and far more cannabis professionals who are committed to promoting marijuana policy reforms and policies that can safeguard the legal cannabis business.

In its press releases, blog posts, and podcasts, the NCIA serves as a source of information for people in the industry, lobbyists and politicians in Washington, and the casual marijuana patient or people who are curious about trying cannabis and would simply like to learn more.

The group spent $560,000 on lobbying on Capitol Hill in 2018 alone. Recent causes it has supported include federal legalization and the SAFE Banking Act, which would open up more lending options for cannabis businesses.

The organization also promotes awareness about issues affecting public safety. For instance, in January 2020, it published an extensive report covering the safety issues related to vaping, including safety recommendations for the industry and users.
